1 off Stainless 6 mm Steel Washer.

The Prop Support Block

1 off 3mm x 2.5cm Wood Screw.

1 off Threaded Chrome Cap.

Assembly Steps

(1) To attach the Small Prop Support Block to the Hood Frame.

Remove the existing upper Dome Headed Bolt from the Hood Frame Bracket attaching the hood to the car body and Store for potential replacement later.

Do this using an appropriate sized Alan Key,

The Upper Dome Head Bolt.

Note! Do not loosen the Lower Bolt as well or the Hood Location Set Up will be lost.

Fit the Small Prop Support Block with Stainless 6mm Bolt & Washer

Fit the Washer onto the Bolt and slide through the hole in the Aluminium Support Prop.

Screw the bolt into the hole in the hood bracket and tighten using the same appropriately Alan Key used to remove the original Counter Sunk Bolt.

Tighten this Dome Head bolt up Tightly as you will not need to move it again.

The Small Prop Support - Piece 1 – Attached.

2. To attach the Support Arm

Countersunk Bolt Removed.

Remove the rear most Countersunk Bolt from the Hood Bracket and Store for potential replacement later.

The Hood Bracket is attached to the Body Inner Wheel Arch (as seen in the rear of the photo above).

The Spanner Support with its 2 off Nylon Washers & M6 Stainless Dome Head Bolt and Washer.

Use the M6 30mm Dome Head Bolt and its 1 off Steel Washer to attach Support Arm to the Hood Bracket.

Slide the bolt through the hole in the spanner and then attach the 2 off Nylon Washers.

1 off nylon washer is used to part fill the countersunk hole and the other 1 off to provide a spacer to keep the spanner away from the leather of the Wheel Arch.

Add some LocTight or Nail Varnish to the bolt thread before fitting to discourage loosening during use.

Tighten up the Bolt lightly so that you can move the stay. The Loctite will set overnight.

The Pivoting Support Arm - Attached.

(3) First Trial Fitting of Both the Small Prop Support and Support Stay.

Lift the rear of the Hood up until you can swing the Hood Support Stay into position to fit into the Small Prop Support.

(4) Fitting Hood Support.

The Hood Stay Support is used as a rest for when the Hood is closed down ready for travel. The Support is made up of a Chrome End Cap, and Threaded Brass Washer, a Aluminium Sleeve and a Wood Screw.

Position the Sleeve so that it supports the Stay in a horizontal position and mark its location using a suitably long nail point.

Finished Appearance ( Photo of a Prototype )

Drill a pilot hole into the side of the Wheel Arch Leather & Wood.

Please Remember that the Ash Wood Grain is dense and the last thing you want is to sheer off the wood screw while tightening.

Attach the Support by first threading the Brass Threaded Washer and then the Sleeve (widest end to the brass washer) onto the Wood Screw and Screw the assembly to the side of the Wheel Arch.

Lastly, Screw the Chrome Cap tightly onto the Threaded Brass Washer.

Your Support Bracket, ( which is not tapered like this one,) - Is Positioned to Support The Spanner Hood Support Stay when not in use.
